DepEd humingi ng paumanhin dahil sa tila ‘pang-iinsulto’ kay Mar Roxas sa isang learning module

Humingi ng paumanhin ang Department of Education (DepEd) matapos mag-viral sa social media ang isang learning module kung saan tila ‘ininsulto’ nito si dating Interior Secretary at 2016 presidential candidate Manuel “Mar” Roxas.

Sa Facebook post ng netizen na si JC Punongbayan, isang Rappler columnist, ibinahagi nito ang larawan kung saan makikita at mababasa ang pang-iinuslto sa dating kalihim.

Ang nasabing module ay para sa mga Grade 6 students sa isang pampublikong paaralan sa Las Piñas.

Mababasa rito ang pangungusap na “Pakitang-tao ang ginawa ni Mar Roxas” at “Mistulang basang-sisiw si Mar Roxas sa bidyo.”

Samantala, naglabas ng kanilang pahayag ang ‘DepEd Tayo - Division of Las Piñas’ at inaming “inaappropriate” ang nasabing larawan mula 2nd Quarter Self Learning Module (SLM) para sa subject na Filipino. 

Inabisuhan na rin umano nila ang division office na baguhin ito sapagkat ang na-print na version ay hindi nila aprubado.

Dahil dito ay humihingi ng paumanhin ang ahensiya sa mga na-offend ng laman ng module at tiniyak na inaayos na nila ito.

Narito ang kanilang buong pahayag:

"OFFICIAL STATEMENT 

On the Grade 6 - 2nd Quarter SLM for Filipino Incident

March 29, 2021 - This has reference with the post circulating on social media relative to an inappropriate content on one of the activities included in the Grade 6 - 2nd Quarter Self Learning Module (SLM) for Filipino. 

Based on the results of our investigation, we confirm that such content was indeed part of the said module. All SLMs of the Schools Division Office of Las Piñas are being validated for quality assurance. The particular content was identified and was advised to be corrected. Unfortunately, the one that was printed was not the approved and final version of the SLM and with this, we take full responsibility and accountability toward these lapses.

We would like to express our sincerest apology to the concerned individuals which may have been offended or harmed in any way by this incident. This Office is taking appropriate remedial and preventive measures to rectify the same. 

To this end, this Office is committed in enhancing and ensuring the quality of learning resources in compliance with DepEd Order No. 12, s.2020 or the Adoption of the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan for School Year 2020-2021 in the Light of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency."
