A Facebook post from a chef and political observer has sparked widespread discussion, warning of the dangers facing the Philippines if Martin Romualdez becomes president. The post, which critiques the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte, suggests that the real beneficiary of these efforts is Romualdez, Speaker of the House, who is allegedly using financial influence to push the impeachment forward.

The chef argues that the impeachment process, despite weak evidence, could still succeed due to Romualdez's power and influence, much like the controversial removal of Chief Justice Renato Corona in 2012. The post warns that if Romualdez becomes president, the country will remain trapped in corruption, with leaders enriching themselves at the expense of the people.
The chef also critiques the silence of Filipinos, claiming that fear, apathy, and bribery have stifled political discourse. “The problem with our nation is not ignorance but SILENCE,” the post asserts, emphasizing that without action, the country will continue to suffer under corrupt leadership.
In the final lines, the chef urges Filipinos to work hard for self-reliance and rise against the current political climate. “If you don’t, you and your family are bound to suffer under one of the worst governments this nation has ever seen,” the post concludes, calling for collective action to change the country’s future.
The post has sparked both support and criticism, igniting an important conversation on the future of Philippine politics.
Here’s the full Facebook post:
"Some Kakampinks celebrating over Sara’s impeachment — hate to burst your bubble, but the huling halakhak isn’t yours. It’s not us either. It’s Martin Romualdez’s. The next president won’t be Sara, nor Risa, and definitely not Leni — but Martin.
When that time comes, we’re all DOOMED.
The nature of impeachment is actually a good thing because it exposes what needs to be exposed. But given that Inday Sara Duterte is the biggest threat to this administration, I doubt if their alliances in senate would be fair. They will move heaven and earth to bring her down — to the point where recovering will be extremely difficult for her.
If it’s true that Martin paid those 153 congressmen to sign the impeachment, it doesn’t take a genius to see that the Senate can be bribed too. And just like CJ Corona, even if the evidence against Inday Sara is weak, she will still be impeached, given the current political landscape and factors at play.
If Martin becomes president, we will never experience a better Philippines. We will go down in history as a nation with immense potential, yet held back by leaders who drain government resources for personal gain.
Our legislative body will remain infested with leftists and corrupt individuals, willing to sell their souls to the highest bidder. In our lifetime, we will never achieve universal healthcare, free education, advanced infrastructures, good governance, and a safe country.
The problem with our nation is not ignorance but SILENCE. People see what is happening, yet they choose not to speak out. Silence can mean many things — it could be the result of bribery, fear for one’s safety, or the belief that no matter how loudly they protest, nothing will ever change. Others avoid political discourse, consumed by more immediate personal struggles, such as securing their basic needs.
Our armed forces, and religious leaders who used to be vocal also kept their silence. Media, also silent. With these factors at hand, it is difficult to unite the majority when their only form of resistance exists in their hearts. The sad truth is that conviction without action changes nothing — and I doubt we will see real change in our lifetime if we will all keep SILENT.
The grassroots and marginalized communities will remain at the mercy of Martin’s dole-out system, trapped in a cycle of dependency for the rest of their lives. The middle class will continue bearing the weight of the government, shouldering the burden through their taxes.
Meanwhile, the rich and oligarchs will only grow more powerful — hoarding wealth to the point of excess till they can’t breathe. We will continue raising generations of uneducated citizens, making them easy to manipulate. And because they are marginalized and uneducated, they become even more vulnerable to a society plagued by drugs.
What a sad, sad future for the Philippines. Neither Leni nor Risa can take down Martin. Only Sara can.
Just too bad that, at this point, money truly talks. And when Martin eventually becomes the president of our motherland, we — DDS, Kakampinks, Marcos loyalists, Yellows, and even the neutrals — all of us are DOOMED.
But of course, I understand that your hatred for the Dutertes is insurmountable, so you’d rather accept (maybe) a Martin Romualdez presidency than support Sara, who actually has a chance to defeat him.
So, what can we do in this looming dark age of the Philippines? Work hard until you become truly self-reliant — work until you bleed, because if you don’t, you and your family are bound to suffer under one of the worst governments this nation has ever seen.
Now, are you ready to raise your voices and take action, or will you still remain SILENT?"
