The Running Man Philippines cast member went live on TikTok over the weekend to express her frustration over the country’s recurring flooding problem, after a downpour equivalent to over seven days of rainfall fell within just an hour on Saturday.

I’m sorry I can’t contain my emotions. Sabi nila kanina, kada umuulan daw dito, kada may bagyo, talagang ganito,” said the actress in tears.

She explained that her emotions overwhelmed her when residents, despite struggling to escape the flood, still took the time to help push her car to higher ground.

Bakit kailangan pagdaanan ng mga Pilipino ‘to? […]

Her livestream has since reached over three million views on TikTok. Gonzales vowed to return to the area to extend help once the floodwaters subside and urged the local government to do the same.

Her remarks come as investigations continue into alleged anomalies in the government’s flood control projects, involving billions of pesos in funds, “ghost” initiatives, and accusations that contracts were cornered by a favored few contractors.

Gonzales first gained recognition as the First Princess in the seventh season of GMA Network’s StarStruck in 2019. She is currently a mainstay on All-Out Sundays and appears in the GMA series Cruz vs. Cruz alongside Gladys Reyes and Vina Morales.
